Karen consulted with UCSF's Gladstone Institute's Dr. Deepak Srivastava, MD on ideas for the new Stem Cellular Collection. Dr. Srivastava is vice president of the International Society for Stem Cell Research, the voice of the global stem cell research community. Srivastava, who pioneered the use of stem cells for heart disease, is director of the Roddenberry Stem Cell Center and a senior investigator at the Gladstone Institutes. University of California’s Gladstone Institute is known for Nobel Prize winning researchers and stem cell research. Of course Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular products are based on PLANT stem cells.
Dr. Sydney Coleman, plastic surgeon world-renowned for pioneering surgery techniques and for his research with stem cells, joined Juice Beauty as a Scientific Medical Advisor focusing on our plant Stem Cellular formulations. Dr. Coleman is the recipient of multiple grants from the US Military aimed at treating wounded veterans with transplanted fat and stem cells; is the author of a leading plastic surgery text book, and has many academic affiliations. Of course Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular products are based on PLANT stem cells.

The first Juice Beauty Daily Essentials Collection was launched with a Cleanse-Treat-Moisturize regimen consisting of Juice Beauty's Cleansing Milk, Antioxidant Serum, GREEN APPLE™ Peel Full Strength, Hydrating Mist, and the Nutrient Moisturizer.
Juice Beauty is launched! All original product formulations were discarded and a product development manager was hired to assist in developing new Juice Beauty products. Many laboratories were contacted, all of which turned down the opportunity to work with Juice Beauty as they did not want to formulate with organic botanical juices. Finally, Juice Beauty secured one laboratory that agreed to work with our innovative and new ideas as long as we would fund a freezer. Karen began her journey of developing the highest efficacy skincare products and building a multi-million dollar profitable company that was mission and values driven.
Karen purchased the name "Juice Beauty" from a group of people in Mill Valley, California that had a handful of natural products sold in a few dozen stores, total annual sales of $300,000 with debt and no profit. Karen wanted the name as it fit her concept of filling with botanical juices, so she bought the name. Prior to this, Karen and her husband researched how they could change basic beauty chemistry by formulating with organic botanical juices as opposed to water or petroleum glycol fillers thus the name Juice Beauty was a perfect fit.

During Karen's pregnancies, motivated to find highly efficacious beauty products that would be
healthful for her and her unborn babies, she started reading beauty product labels for the first time.
Karen expanded the fitness concept to the entire spectrum of wellness, starting one of the first corporate wellness companies in the USA (Execu-Fit Health Programs) eventually purchased by PacifiCare/United Health Care and subsequently renamed PacifiCare Wellness Company. This company provided worksite well ness programs to multiple corporations and helped pioneer the wellness industry.
Karen Behnke started 'Get Fit Aerobics' and secured the U.S. Army contract (former Presidio San Francisco base) to teach several fitness classes per day starting her well ness career. Karen pioneered the “warm up” before races in the San Francisco Bay Area starting with the American Heart Association May Day Races.
