Meet Vine #1

Vine #1, a very special vine, but first let us explain ... one of our favorite activities at the Juice Beauty Farm is observing the different flowers and fruits (including the grapes, figs, olives, and apples to name a few!) growing around the property and seeing how they change throughout the seasons. The inspiration to grow our own ingredients came from our belief that organically farmed ingredients have higher antioxidant levels and these ingredients are the most important piece of our secret sauce formulas!

Why a Farm?

It all starts with Karen, our founder, who has dedicated her entire life to health, wellness, fitness and organic living. Karen has leapt over multiple obstacles in her life and defied all odds to be thriving as a serial wellness entrepreneur. The Juice Beauty farm provides an opportunity to showcase the California, organic, wellness, antioxidant rich ingredients core to the brand and Karen’s lifestyle.

Location, location, location

Healdsburg, fast becoming known as the farm to table hotspot in the wine region of California was our top choice for Juice Beauty farmland for so many reasons. Vogue recently wrote an article citing Healdsburg as the bustling town with creative culinary energy and a main California vacation destination.

It’s harvest time!

Harvest is looming with the exact day completely dependent on the weather conditions and how the grapes have matured as judged by our expert vineyard managers and farmers. Of course scientific tests are done for sugar, acidity, ph, brix, and more but our vineyard managers watch and taste the grapes daily to determine the exact time to harvest. A vineyard fun fact for some varieties of grapes, so says our experts, is to taste them to also determine the exact perfect time for harvest. The progression of grape tastes goes from flavor releases of: Green Apple taste > Cherry taste > Plum taste > Jam like taste. It’s the “art and science” of grape growing!

Processing

After the grape, apple and olive harvests, the fruit is packed in bins and is delivered to our processing companies. Juice Beauty uses two West Coast professional organic food processing companies to prepare our organic fruit to be sent to our labs. Of course organic grapes and apples are two of our favorites since we use so much of this resveratrol and malic acid rich ingredients.

The awesome apple—Malic Acid Rich Apple Trees

Thinking of fall, apple harvests and apple pie? Well, even if you aren’t in the fall mode, maybe it’s the season to contemplate effective exfoliation of your skin. Why exfoliate? To achieve healthy, glowing skin. Fall is a great time to give nature a boost. If you are in your twenties, your skin cells are naturally turning over monthly but if you are past 30, well let’s just say you might need a bit of help moving this process along, particularly after a fun filled summer of beach, saltwater and chlorine.

Deeply hydrating and balancing for the skin’s moisture levels. and because it contains vitamin K and squalene, it can help to plump, soften and hydrate.

After Founder, Karen developed a keen interest in personal care products with her first pregnancy at age 40. She was astounded to learn that, although the skin absorbs over 60% of what is placed on it, there were very few available healthy personal care products that worked well.
